Man, I'm lucky I took French in high school. I am editing a manuscript where the characters are supposedly using French phrases, but oh, my, has that author ever missed class!!
I'm thinking of changing all the French phrases to their English counterparts, but that would ruin the flavor of the character's speaking pattern. So I'll just have to look them up and change them, or rely on my 50 year-old French class.
I think I'll look them up.
